Valley History Preserved in Pictures
The year 1889 saw the development of communities that grew up around irrigation routes from nearby lakes, the Spokane River, and the aquifer. Different plats were laid out and given names such as: East Farms, Opportunity, Dishman, Orchard Avenue, Vera, Millwood, Otis Orchards, Greenacres, Liberty Lake, Newman Lake, Pasadena Park, Trentwood, Chester, and Millwood. This area in Eastern Washington, called the Spokane Valley, comprises the Cities of Spokane Valley, Liberty Lake, the town of Millwood and unincorporated areas of Spokane County.

Take a look at a few pictures of the valley's early history. The museum will have displays of artifacts and memorabalia from our rich heritage. Enjoy!
